Coming soon to Neiman Marcus NorthPark, fashion entrepreneur, media personality, author and Dallas resident Leah Frazier will host a panel discussion featuring Rosario Dawson (seen recently in Drug and The Mandalorian), who co-owns fashion brand Studio 189 with Abrima Erwiah, who is also on the panel.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 31.

Attendees will get a sneak peek at Studio 189’s next line and learn how to start a fashion business. It’s the finale of a national series organized by Dallas-based Neiman Marcus to boost female fashion entrepreneurs.

All branches of the upscale department store host these women’s leadership panels throughout March in honor of Women’s History Month. Neiman representatives say they are engaging with customers and associates to highlight the importance of women in leadership positions in business, technology, the arts, design, health, wellness and their communities.

“As an organization co-founded by a woman and led by a majority of women, female leadership is paramount to who we are,” says Marjon Zabihi Henderson, Senior Director of Brand Experience and Special Events at Neiman Marcus. “These panels allow us to connect and uplift women in communities across the country, which for us is extremely powerful.”

Co-founded by Carrie Marcus Neiman, Neiman Marcus Group has a long history of female leadership, the company reports. Today, women would make up the majority of the company’s board of directors, 59% of vice president and above levels, and 68% of all company and store associates.

Additionally, the company reports that it is “committed to providing women creators, brands, and business partners with a place to thrive.”

In other parts of the country, panelists include award-winning actress/director Maggie Gyllenhaal; award-winning writer/director Janicza Bravo; Sarah Davis, founder of FASHIONPHILE; emerging designer Autumn Adeigbo; and “A Girl Named Carrie” author and great-niece of Carrie Marcus Neiman, Jerrie Marcus, among others.

“I am thrilled to celebrate Women’s History Month with the brilliant women on this panel,” Gyllenhaal said in a written statement. She and Bravo were panelists at the Beverly Hills store.

“I had to carve my own path in an industry that hadn’t made room for me,” Bravo said in the statement. “I had been brought up to think in terms of scarcity and now I know there is more land to be had. I hope the road will be more open for women and people of color who come after.

In addition to the Women’s History Month signs, Neiman Marcus Group says it has also created a variety of initiatives to support and inspire women, including:

Collaborate with Boss Beauties to launch an NFT “Role Models” collection
Sponsoring young women from the Boss Beauties community to travel to Neiman Marcus downtown flagship store to meet female executives
Support Mindy Scheier and Runway of Dreams’ adaptive fashion show titled “A Fashion Revolution”, which empowers people with disabilities
Highlighting Story Makers and Innovators in Neiman Marcus’ Online Magazine in an article titled “The Future is in Her Hands”
